- Sep 26, 2017 I think you have two options with CS4: 1. Buy an older Mac where InDesign CS4 is supported. That would one where you could install OS X 10.6.8. Maybe also up to 10.10, but this is experimental. If your machine allows to install OS X 10.12, 10.11 or 10.10 ( I'm not sure what exactly is doable ) you could use two start up partitions.

Printing from InDesign CS3 or CS4, or Illustrator CS3 or CS4 on Apple OS 10.7 (Lion) results in the Adobe application crashing. Acrobat 8.x is also installed, or was installed on the system previously.
The following workaround can be applied to get these older versions of Illustrator and InDesign to print on this newer operating system. Remove the following files and back them up:
